Loading and Saving events

.sevx	Sensible Laps event, compressed. The default and strongly recommended.
.sev	Sensible Laps event, uncompressed JSON.
.setx	Sensible event template — event settings with no entry information.

Events can be loaded from either event file type. Saving an event as a template strips the entries, leaving a reusable starting point for the Event Wizard.

Saving

After you've saved once with Save As — or loaded an existing .sev/.sevx — the plain Save option becomes available and simply writes over that file.

Auto-save

Once an event has been saved, the auto-save feature (if enabled) saves it automatically as each race completes.

Auto-save also keeps a separate copy named after the last completed race in Documents\Sensible Laps\autosave\. That folder is purged of old files on startup, so it's a safety net rather than an archive.

Templates

The templates offered in the Event Wizard live in %localappdata%\Sensible Laps\Templates. You can add your own templates to that folder and remove the defaults.

Note

If that folder is empty, the default templates are regenerated and saved there again on next use — so you can't permanently break the wizard by clearing it.
