General Sounds

General Sounds controls the built-in audio cues — lap beeps, race start and finish, and text-to-speech announcements.

Audio files

Sound files live in the Audio folder under the install path (default %ProgramFiles%\Sensible Laps\Audio). Only .wav files are supported. Drop your own .wav files there to use them in the settings below.

Lap Announcement Preference

What to play when a lap is detected:

  • None — silent.
  • Beep — plays the normal beep audio.
  • Position — announces the driver's position.
  • Name — announces the driver's name.
  • Name – Position / Position – Name — announces both, in that order.

Beep sounds

Normal Beep : Audio file played for a normal lap.

Error Beep : Audio file played when there's an error — for example a lap under the minimum lap time.

Race cues

Race Start : Audio file played when the race starts.

Race Complete : Audio file played when the race finishes.

Text to Speech

Used for name/position announcements and for spoken Delay Actions and Race Actions.

  • Voice — the system voice to use (the list depends on the voices installed in Windows).
  • Speed — voices vary a lot in pace; use this slider to set a comfortable speaking rate.
  • Volume — how loud spoken announcements are.
