Division Mode

Sensible Laps has four division modes.

Classic

Entrants complete qualifying rounds to seed into the finals.

Classic mode can add a last chance qualifier (LCQ) once all qualifying is complete — a single race of a subset of entries competing for the last spots in the A main. To add one, right-click the division after qualifying and choose Add LCQ; the options set the total entries in the final, the number in the LCQ, and how many drivers bump up. To change these, remove the LCQ and re-add it.

Note

Adding an LCQ to a division switches a basic event to advanced, because the divisions' options are no longer identical.

Heats

Entrants qualify, then the winning group (per the options) of each lower main can bump up into the higher mains.

Christmas Tree

Similar to Heats but based on IFMAR rules. After qualifying, entrants are split into odd and even groups; the lower group winners bump toward the semis. Two semi-finals are held (odd and even) with the top group moving into the final. A last chance qualifier (LCQ) can allow one more entrant to bump in.

Heads Up!

Based on the popular Reedy Race format. There's no qualifying — grid positions are randomly sorted for each race and full points are awarded every race in the round (the A-main and B-main winners both receive 0 points).
